Moving Backwards. Backwards Moving focuses on past movements can be seen in an instant, where it can be recognized and is never to be seen again. To articulate this past does not mean to recognize it the way it really was, it means to seize hold of a memory as it flashes into our consciousness, before it is lost again. Moving Backwards. Backwards Moving intends to reverse this by capturing a memory and preserving it through the manufacture of sculptures based on the movement itself. The sculptures consist mainly of unorthodox materials, in combination with structural materials such as wood and metal. With the amalgamation of all these necessary factors it allows for the opening up of new possibilities for exploring reality and live new fictions through the investigation of body movements and mimesis.
