Come rot your teeth and sweeten your senses at the Sugar Coated Visual Art Exhibition
Opening reception 18th March 6-8pm.
Viewing 19th + 20th of March 1-7pm.
The aesthetics of anything can conceal any number of realities. Delicious decadence or grim and gross? What does this mean to the students and artists of today in our culture of sweet lies and saccharine cover-ups? How do we look beyond the glazed exterior of modern society and culture to the less than appealing centre?
The Exhibition will be launched with a sweet and drinks reception before the unveiling of the selected work and the announcement of the most mouth-watering or stomach-churning piece. The winner will receive €400 and the honour of the Sugar Coated award for Visual Arts. The event will judged and curated by a prestigious group of artists and professionals from within the industry.
The Sugar Coated group comprising of Arts Management and Business students from the Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Dun Laoghaire have selected the sweetest and sickliest of up and coming underground artists in the visual arts world. The artists have been asked to deliver their own unique interpretation of the Sugar Coated theme.
